NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Dave Leonard and Josh Floyd were sworn in as newly elected El Dorado Springs R-II School Board members at the regular scheduled school board meeting on Thursday, April 11. Leonard was elected to a 3 year term as was Floyd. Floyd has been a school board member for nine years, four of them as President.

Former Police Department slip-up costs city vital grant money

During the El Dorado Springs City Council meeting on April 15, the council learned that the city would not be eligible for two grants totaling approximately $460,000 because needed paperwork from the former police department had not been filed in Sept, Oct. and Nov. of 2023.  (These filings are supposed to done electronically every month.)

Board hears update on new bus barn

At their April 11, meeting, the R-2 school board learned that the new bus barn was almost complete. The new electric buses will have charging stations at the new barn which will be fenced and well-lit at night.
