The James River Rendezvous Association participated in the second annual Bass Pro Outdoor Days in conjunction with the Governor’s Capitol Camping incentive. This event promotes healthy lifestyles through outdoor activities such as family camping and all other activities in the great outdoors. Local members participating were Les and Glenna Ray of El Dorado Springs and Ray and Glenda Gipson of Weableau. The “mission” of the Rendezvous Association is to promote an awareness of our cultural heritage through living history reenactments of pre-1840 life of the fur trade era mountain men and Native Americans. This event is just one of many in which the group brings our history to life.
