The Cedar County back-to-school fair was held Aug. 12, at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in El Dorado Springs. This year, 132 children were served.

The day began with lunch then haircuts, vision screening and hearing testing were offered. Sponsors and vendors were in attendance offering families invaluable information on community resources.

In addition to backpacks and school supplies, the children were offered new shoes this year. The fair was organized and sponsored by West Central MCAA, the First Baptist Church, our local Ministerial Association and Bright Futures.

Our thanks for another highly successful year goes to all of our community sponsors, businesses and caring individuals. This event could not happen without the donations of financial and merchandise resources as well as the time and talent of many volunteers.

Jim & Jeanie Ogle would like to thank family and friends from near and far for the nearly 100 cards they received in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.  They enjoyed reading the notes and letters of congratulations along with memories shared by long-time friends.
