The El Dorado Springs City Council approved the sale of 20 acres to MC Power for a Solar Farm close to the airport. City Manager Bruce Rogers said that all the approvals needs have been attained due to the farm being close to the airport. He said the city will have no closing costs. Work on the farm is scheduled to begin in late January and be completed by June. The city will provide meters, four poles and an air switch at a cost of approximately $10,000. The fence and all maintenance will be provided by MC Power. The contract price for the 20 acres is $100,000.

All councilmen were present: Mayor Brad True, Jim Luster, Nick Bland, Randy Bland and Jerry Baldwin. Rogers and Utility Clerk Sabrina Mallicoat were also present.

The council approved a zoning change on Allison Road from R-1 single family to B-3 Hwy. business.

The council also approved a change order with Central Tank Coatings, Inc for the water tower painting project. Rogers said Central Tank has completed all their work.  The change order is to deduct $6,000 from the contract price for lettering. Ozark Applicators will do the lettering and Bulldog logo at a cost of $5,250. Rogers said the tank is filled and the tests are good and should be back in service on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The council approved an ordinance vacating a portion of Walnut Street right-of-way located between lots 125 – 129, Block 18 and Lots 130-134, Block, 10 and the platted alley located between Block 8 and Block 18 in Cruses West Addition to the City of El Dorado Springs.

Rogers gave an update on the electric substation saying that once tests are completed the contractors can resume work. He commented the water well project is moving forward.

Rogers said approval had been received to move forward with obtaining the necessary easement from the 8 – 10 property owners located in the area of the new sidewalk project.
