Dr. Sharon West Lansing

We are appealing to the community, and those interested in the El Dorado Springs Community Garden project, for workers/volunteers to come to the garden site and help get the raised beds completed before winter weather sets in.

We will have two work days: Saturday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 27. We will meet at the garden around 9 a.m. on both days. We need at least 10 people to participate each of these days. We need 4 -5 persons who can bring a wheelbarrow and use that wheelbarrow to ferry mulch and soil to the raised beds.

We need an additional four to five persons who can bring a shovel and/or a garden rake to the site and then use that implement to spread mulch and soil into the designated places. We estimate that the task for us each of these two days can be completed in two to three hours. Your help is truly needed in these last remaining tasks to get the beds ready for spring planting.

I wish we could promise you some lunch or refreshments but that is not possible on our limited budget. But, please come. Please bring some water, coffee and a snack if you wish. If you can’t make it but know of someone who is interested, please spread the word that help is needed.

This project is for the community as a whole and your help will certainly not go unnoticed. If you have questions about any of this, please call or text me at 417/321-0216.
