GREEN LAWN MEMORIAL DAY – The usual crowd of family members were at the Schell City Cemetery for the Memorial Day service. Pastor Dan Gayman, Church of Israel, called on Julie Wilson to lead two congregational songs, Battle Hymn of the Republic and America the Beautiful. Then he turned it over to the Menonite Choir, a gathering of choir members from the Living Faith Mennonite Church, who sang Precious Memories and I’ll Fly Away. Then Pastor Gaymon addressed the audience, cutting it fairly short because of the sweltering heat. Navy veteran John R. Hoagland raised the flag to end the service. The usual crowd of family members were at the Schell City Cemetery for the Memorial Day service.
