Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland recently recognized area volunteers for their outstanding service in Girl Scouting at its 2017 Recognitions Ceremony in Springfield.

The Volunteer of Excellence Pin was presented to Kim Cox of El Dorado Springs. The Volunteer of Excellence Pin recognizes volunteers for outstanding service in direct partnership with girls or who have contributed outstanding service in support of our council’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.

Cox is the director of the ElDo Youth Center in El Dorado Springs.

“It is because of the commitment, generosity, and heart of our volunteers that girls across our council grow in courage, gain confidence, and develop character,” said CEO Anne Soots. “We offer our congratulations and deep appreciation to our volunteers who have given their time to mentor and change the lives of girls.”

About the Girl Scout Leadership Experience

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in grades K-12. With 2.7 million girl and adult members worldwide, Girl Scouts is the leading authority on girls’ healthy development. Today’s Girl Scout Leadership Experience has evolved to fit a wide variety of interests of schedules. With five program pathways – events, series, camp, troops and travel – girls have more options and more reasons to join than ever before. Through hands-on learning opportunities and a girl-led decision-making process, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience empowers girls to discover a strong sense of self, connect with others in a changing world, and take action to help make the world a better place.
