Cedar County MU Extension Council met on the evening of March 6 at 7 p. m. at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital Health Complex Classroom in Stockton. Members in attendance were Nedra Fox, Kelly Hendricks, Marlon Collins, Joy Rutledge, Tom Bryant, Gary Glover, Glenda Pate, Jordan Richner, Ben Francis and Kelly Wrenn. The report of the meeting is adapted from meeting minutes provided by council member Nedra Fox.

Council Chair Kelly Hendricks called the meeting to order and after approval, of the minutes and treasurers report there was explanation of the duties of the four committees by Cedar County MU Extension County Program Director and Regional Livestock Specialist Patrick Davis. Then after discussion, members signed up for committees. Following signup was discussion of committee reports.

Budget, finance and audit committee set the date for the audit of the financial books for the Cedar County MU Extension Council for March 15 at 1 p. m. Council was educated on process pertaining to new council executive officers filling out signature cards for council checking account at Simmons Bank.

The election committee business involved swearing in newly appointed City of Stockton Council member Kelly Wrenn. Committee discussed the lack of attendance of one council member and based on council bylaws the council approved sending a letter to this person concerning their status on the council and to address this issue.

The equipment committee had no business to discuss. During programs committee discussion, Patrick Davis reviewed the programs of the past month and familiarized new council members with reports and programs held each month.

Then council member Marlon Collins reported on his experience on attending MU Legislative Day. Along with Marlon we had four Cedar County 4–H members and youth program assistant David Black attend the event.

New Business for the council was that David Black youth program assistant was leaving his position in Cedar County and taking the Family Financial Education Specialist position in Vernon County. This will leave the Cedar County Youth Program Assistant position vacant starting March 6 and there has been no official word when the position will be filled.

Patrick Davis presented the reaching out report which outlines MU Extension programming and activities going on in Cedar County.

Final activity of the evening was the training of old and new council members on the purpose and activities of the Cedar County MU Extension Council and Cedar County MU Extension Center.

The next meeting of the Cedar County MU Extension Council will be held on April 3, at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital Health Complex Classroom in Stockton at 7 p. m.
