NOW and Shooting Sports Presention

Thursday night, the Nine Wonders Optimist Club had the privilege to host approximately 20 Cedar County Shooting Sports 4H participants and their parents.  We witnessed their skills in archery and air rifle as well as gun safety.   Each participant must complete a 6-hour safety course on all areas before they can begin participating.   These kids were amazing; showing pride, dedication, enthusiasm; not to mention skill in their respective sports.  This 4H club has number of 1st and 2nd place State ranked teams.  Most impressive.

Afterwards the club hosted the group and members to a hot dog dinner with chips, water and brownies.

While it wasn’t much of a New Optimist Wanted (NOW) event, I really enjoyed the presentation.

I would like to thank the committee members  who helped with the meal set up and prep:  Stephanie, Terry, Gina, Gabby, and Debbie – and the many other members who helped clean up and make it a success.
