Supt. Mark Koca reported that the new gym is exceptionally quiet. With all four units on you can just barely hear air movement. The structural steel guys have been working on the mezzanine for several days and got all the steel and the deck up for that. They put steel in the stairwell and it becomes just a hallway. The air  conditioning in the High School gym is pretty much all done. Supt. Koca said, “I think the roofers are within a couple of days of being done with the roof on the gym. We made a decision the other day to move the weight room to its new location while the wall was gone so we didn’t have to disassemble any equipment.”

“They are still looking at end of September, first of October for substantial completion.”

“They have started brickwork. Most of the roughed in mechanical systems are done,” he said.

“The elevator is supposed to be delivered before the end of the month. They have started bricking the elevator shaft.”

The board will look into the possibility of adding graphics to the gym at extra cost. Since the money is OK, they will get a cost and consider it later.

The board took up the Community Eligibility Provision for the Breakfast and Lunch program. Supt. Koca gave the board several options and recommended that they go with Option 2 which will lose $112,000 in one year, then check on the loss.
