RESURRECTION SUNDAY – Pape Christian Church celebrated Resurrection Sunday with an early service at 7:30 a.m. followed by a biscuit and gravy breakfast and fellowship.

Our Easter Program was in four chapters: 1) A performance by our Youth Bell, 2) The Jelly Bean Story, 3) a Puppet Show of Dave the Donkey and 4) The Resurrection Story. The entire program was put on by Pape Youth. Eva Hadsall designed and painted all of the program props to go along with the magnificent Cross of Calvary that she made a few years ago and now has a place of honor at the front of our sanctuary. Eva created a stunning set depicting the earthy life of Jesus: Joseph leading Mary on a donkey into Bethlehem for the Birth of Jesus, the Cross that Glorified Him, and the empty tomb that Mary Magdalene found on the early morning of that “first day of the week.”

Following the wonderful program, everyone ventured into the brisk morning air for the “He Is Risen” balloon release. Most of the colorful balloons were carried quickly aloft with only a few being caught in the leafless branches to create the allusion of a “balloon blossom” in the tree.

After the balloon release, the children with their colorful baskets enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt and everyone enjoyed the special appearance of the “Easter Bunny” with his camouflage candy sack as he gave gifts to the children.

Then we all came inside and enjoyed another breakfast with warm and wonderful fellowship before the Worship Service. Picture are PCC Youth Cast. Photo by Dennis Wallen
