“SHE WORE A FINE HAT” TEA PARTY – Pape Christian Church Ladies enjoyed a theme tea party on Saturday, Sept. 23, with participants wearing hats for judging by ballot in three categories: 1 – Vintage/Antique; 2 – Home-Made and 3- Store-Bought. The rule was to dress according to the style or history of the hat. Several of the ladies wore beautiful hats of their mothers. Neva Mallicoat wore a bonnet that her grandmother had worn while traveling in a covered wagon and Neva also wore the pioneer attire. Phyllis Shouse was very creative in mimicking the style of Carman Miranda for her hat of many fruits. The ladies brought delicious desserts and snacks from their mother’s recipes and they brought the recipes to share. In addition to the wonderful fellowship and devotion, the ladies enjoyed a delightful skit presented by Ashley Kaemmerling, Gracie Swopes, Sharon Greer and Carole Smith.
