El Dorado Springs TOPS chapter 1325 meets at 6 p.m. every Thursday in Grace United Methodist Church, 201 East Broadway. Visitors are always welcome (preteens, teens, and adults – male and female). The first meeting is free.

This week in our meeting:

Carol was our best loser.

Those who turned in a food chart or food record were able to pick a gift out of the grab bag. This is one of the things we do to motivate us to keep track. When we keep track it makes us accountable: We realize what we are eating, and that we might be eating a little more than we realized, which will help us to lose weight the next week.

The grab bag we presented to two people, Felicia and Becky, great job this week. Becky gave a wonderful program on “What is your vision?” Becky’s program presented the question “why did we got into TOPS, was it for your health, or maybe a loved one that you want to be around for, and “what are we going to do to make that a reality?”

We also learned that Helen Keller was blind and deaf, but she earned her bachelor of arts degree. She had almost a total lack of language, but she learned how to communicate.

Felicia read a couple quotes about weight loss. The contest report was read. Verna is ahead and making us work hard to catch up.

With no other business we adjourned saying “Eat to live, not live to eat.”
