Floor was turned over to Susan S who gave a very good talk taken from TOPS Real Life Book.

Change for the better.

She discussed the steps to lasting change.  There are 6 steps.  Susan went over the first two.

Precontemplation, in denial and not committed to change

Contemplation, Aware of the problem and concerned about it.  Most of us who are TOPS members have faced our problem and ready to make a change. But we may not realize our thoughts are holding us back. For example, are we afraid of success? What does food do for you? Does it manage your feelings? Does it help with boredom or improve your mood?

There are many triggers such as watching TV and that pizza commercial comes on.

Susan passed out a form showing what things causes us to want to eat. A “Cost Benefit Analysis. Where we can actually see the advantages to doing a weight loss program and the disadvantages to not doing one.

Thank you, Susan, for a very thought-provoking program.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”.
