On Sept. 20, Sheryl called our meeting to order and ask Carol, our substitute song leader, to lead us in a song. The song for the day was A TOPS Club Clover.

We had 24 weigh in today with a net gain of 12.4 lbs. Melissa lost 4 lbs. this week making her our best loser. She was given the Best Loser sticker and we enjoyed singing the TOPS Palbest loser song to her. Our accumulated miles for this week was 353.

Since Linda H. was gone last week, we sang Happy Birthday to her. Carol and Frank are celebrating their 20th anniversary this week. We sang Happy Anniversary to them.

In our Marble game we had $69.50 available to be won this week. Sue C. won the chance to draw the white marble but didn’t get it.

Our team contest continued this week with Juanita’s team winning by three points. Marilyn’s team had to pay 50¢ each and sing the winning team a song. The winnings are growing and only one team will win.

Evan’s Drug had the program for us today. They began by having us play Evan’s Drug Plinko. Each of us was given a chance to win a pen, cushion, T-shirt or a free coffee from The Bulldog Brew.

Bailey spoke on FALL Prevention. She gave us six steps to prevent a fall: 1) Find a good balance and exercise program. Find a program you like and take a friend. 2) Talk to your health care provider. Ask for an assessment of your risk of falling. 3) Regularly review your medications with your doctor or pharmacist. Make sure side effects aren’t increasing your risk of falling. 4) Get your vision and hearing checked annually and update your eyeglasses.  Your eyes and ears are key to keeping you on your feet. 5) Keep your home safe. Remove tripping hazards, increase lighting, make stairs safe, and install grab bars in key areas. 6) Talk to your family members. Enlist their support in taking simple steps to stay safe.

Vaccinations were our next subject. She told us about the new injection for the Shingles Virus and said the Flu injections would be available on Oct. 1. A question and answer session followed. They ended their program with an opportunity for us to have our BMI, Weight, Blood Pressure and/or Blood Glucose taken with the equipment they had brought. Thanks for a great program.

We closed with our motto, IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME.
