TOPS didn’t meet on Thursday this week. Are you surprised since it was Thanksgiving Day? No, probably not, but we did meet on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in the Church of Christ meeting room. It’s important for us to be accountable, especially before and after a holiday.

Sheryl Ann called us to order and asked our song leader, Kay, to lead us in a song. We sang, It’s Not Too  Late. This was a very appropriate song before this food tempting week. We then said our TOPS and KOPS Pledges.

Marilyn then led us in some exercising to music. 10 minutes worth of fun, moving however we wanted.

Sheryl Ann announced we had 20 weigh in today. We had a loss of 7.4 lbs. but unfortunately, a net gain of 14 lbs. The one who lost the most weight for the week was Pat. We sang our Best Loser song to her for this accomplishment.

Margie was having a birthday this week. We sang Happy Birthday to her and wished her many more.

Sheryl welcomed our Western Missouri State Coordinator, Sylvia Eldridge. Sylvia started our program today by giving out some awards that she had failed to bring to the Fall Rally.

We then gathered in front of the chalk board for a lesson on how to use the exchange system. We shared TOPS’ Real Life Guide to find answers to a open book quiz.

Exchange Record & Food Diary sheets were passed out for us to learn how to count exchanges. She shared an “exchange cheat sheet” to help us convert foods to exchanges.

It was a very informative and interesting program. Thank you, Sylvia, for clearing up some of our confusion about the exchange system.

Sheryl Ann led us in our closing song, The More We Get Together and motto, IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME!

We welcome anyone interested in TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). We meet at 302 E. Hospital Rd. in the Church of Christ meeting room on Thursdays at 8:45 a.m. Our weigh in period is from 7:45 – 8:30 a.m.  We’d love to have you visit us.
