TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Church of Christ meeting room on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Leader Sheryl Ann called the meeting to order and Kay led us in singing “We’ll Lose Weight”.

Twenty-Eight weighed in today and the chapter had a net loss of 15.6 lbs.

Week’s best loser was a tie with Pat and Chris both losing 2.2 lbs. each.

Kadeana had been absent for several weeks but came back with a 14.4 loss. Glad to have you back and congratulations on the big loss.

Marilyn had the program today. She took her program from the recent TOPS Magazine titled “Never Gonna Give You Up.” Making all foods fit.

She asked if we had made New Year’s Resolutions. Some have: quit smoking, exercise every day, lose weight, not buy junk food, be more caring and nicer.

We all want to see immediate results, we see promises of that all the time in the media. We can stick to not eating that favorite food for a week, maybe even a month but sooner or later we will cave and then overindulge. At TOPS we say that all foods fit. If you are craving a piece of chocolate, have one piece and adjust your calorie intake elsewhere for the day. This makes a more manageable weight loss program.

Marilyn gave us a list of some “Super Foods”.

For High cholesterol eat artichokes, whole oats and sesame oil.

To reduce blood pressure, try lentil’s and cinnamon

For headaches, have some coffee, almonds or ginger.

For joint pain, broccoli, green tea and salmon are helpful.

We sang happy anniversary to Susan,

Juanita won the right to draw for the marble and drew the winning white one. She won $43.50.

Warren reported on the contest and said the bottles of quarters are getting lighter.

Remember if school is called off because of bad weather we will not meet. Best place to find out if school will be closed is on the School’s face book page or the radio or Channel 10. Channel 3 is not carrying this information at this time.

With no other business we closed with our song “The More We Get Together” and our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”.
