TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, June 27. For their weekly weigh-in and meeting.
Leader Sheryl Ann Walker called the meeting to order. Carol led us in singing “To TOPS Club We Go.”
We said our pledges.
Sheryl Ann led us in roll call and walking report. Twenty weighed in today and we had a 1.2 lb. loss.
Melissa was the weeks best loser with a loss of 3.8 lbs. Congratulations Melissa.
Marble game: Jan won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.
Contest report: Warren said the KOPS part of the contest will end next week, Juanita and Marilyn are tied.
Sheryl read a newsletter from our Western Missouri Coordinator Sylvia, she explained the first week of the contest is weigh-in only. There needs to be 12 weeks of food charts, exercise charts and weigh-in charts. The Burnie photo is to be only one member per photo on a vacation, trip or a pretty place in your town. We have a lot of historic and beautiful places here in El Dorado Springs, lets see how many different places our members can take “Bernie.”
She wants chapters to come up with skits for SRD and fall rallies.
The floor was turned over to Linda Hall to go over the by-laws.
Linda read each section by section asking for any thoughts or questions or changes.
Section 8 item (f). Robbie moved we change the wording to read: Measurements may be taken in January and July. Steve seconded motion and motion carried.
Carol took over reading the 2nd half of the by-laws.
Section 8 KOPS (a). Linda Hall motion we delete the last sentence and Robbie seconded. Motion passed. It will be changed to read; KOPS National registration fee is paid by our chapter. They will receive an “Achieved My Goal “charm C-18.
Section 9 (a). Linda Hall made motion this be changed to read “KOPS Chapter King and Queen of the year will be honored in February, March or April.” Carol seconded and motion passed.
A part of the by laws we seemed to have overlooked is any TOPS member which includes KOPS who has a gain but does not submit a food chart is to pay a .25 cent fine. This is easy to forget but so good for us to use a food chart. We just need a reminder sometimes.
Thank you, Linda and Carol, for going over these by-laws for us.
Sheryl said the Chamber asked if we wanted to place an ad in their publication. She will check on the price of doing this and get back to us.
With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.”
