TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Jan. 4,  For their weekly weigh in, and meeting.

Leader Sheryl Ann called our meeting to order and Kay & Carol led us in singing “We’ll Lose Weight.” We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges.

Sheryl led us in roll call, walking report and secret pal reveal. Twenty-eight weighed in today and the chapter had a net Loss of 4.0 lbs.

Weeks best loser was Kay with a loss of 3.4 lbs. Congratulations Kay.

We sang Happy Birthday to Sue C. It was noted Linda W. is celebrating her anniversary this week.

Mary reported on the contest report. The current Contest “Loser Lotto” ended with today’s weigh in. All names were put into a bag, Angie was the lucky winner. She won $58.00.  Congratulations Angie.

Mary presented a new contest idea, KOPS HELPING TOPS.” This contest would start on Jan. 24, and run to April 4 (10 weeks). It would consist of teams of one KOP and three TOPS. KOPS are to help and encourage TOPS.

Robbie made motion we accept this contest, Carol 2nd and motion carried. Members start signing up at next meeting and Mary will draw names for teams at random.

Marble Game: Judy B won the right to draw, she got the red one and was able to draw again but did not get the winning one. The pot is at $28.50.

Sheryl said we will be voting next week on renewing our Chamber membership. The cost is $100 per year.  We will also be discussing donations to the Sr Center and to the Food Pantry.

January measuring is in progress, please see Melissa and Kay to have your measurements taken. It is fun to see how many inches you may have lost since July!

The floor was turned over to Marilyn to present the awards for December;

In December the chapter had a net Loss of 10.8 lbs.

Winner of free dues was Sheryl Ann.

There was a tie for the month’s best loser; Judy B and Sandi B each lost 7.2 lbs. for the month of December. Each won $7.16. Congratulations Ladies for your efforts.

Susan S received a certificate and charm for six weeks steady loss.

Jan T received a certificate and charm for her 20 lb. loss

Judy B received certificate and charm for her 30 lb. loss, certificate and charm for 5 lbs. to goal and certificate and charm for reaching her goal on 12/27/18 and becoming a KOPS. Congratulations Judy B.

We welcomed new member Terriesha N with a New member certificate and charm.

Those on the stick with 20 lbs. or less to goal are:

Marie, Juda, LJ, Sue F, Margie and Traci. We hope to see all of these members move up the stick and reach their goal in 2019.

Carol pointed out the TOPS By-Laws are in the new TOPS magazine along with several very interesting articles.

Thank you to Marilyn and Carol for keep the weight records, filling out all the paperwork that has to go into TOPS Headquarters and presenting the awards to our chapter each month. We could not do it without you.

Jean reported those who turned in walking miles for the year 2018 added up to 13,172 miles walked in 2018!  Let’s see if we can beat that in 2019.

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.”
