Mark your calendars now.

Margie and Carol had a great program today. They demonstrated how to make a Beet Spinach Salad.

Margie said beets are a great source of vitamins and minerals and they taste good.

Beets benefit the brain, can lower blood pressure, help reduce having a stroke, improve lung function. They are high in iron but also high in sugar so use in moderation if you are counting calories or carbs.

She used cooked beets, baby spinach, bacon, carrots, celery, boiled eggs and onion to make a great tasting salad. All the members had a sample. Margie will bring the recipe next week.

With no other business we closed with our song “The More We Get Together” and our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.”
