TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)

TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) met in the United Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Nov. 6, for their weekly weigh in, and meeting.

Leader Susan opened the meeting with the TOPS and KOPS Pledges

New contest was discussed. Contest chairman, Cheryl M was unable to stay for the meeting due to her mother being ill. However, she is in agreement of using the quilt Jean donated as a prize in the next contest.  The rules will be simple. If you are a TOPS and you lose you get a ticket to put in the jar. If you are a KOPS you must be UNDER goal to get a ticket to put in the jar. This will start with next week’s weigh in and end last weigh in of January. A ticket will then be drawn from the jar for the winner. So, if you lose each week of if you are a KOPS and you are under goal each week you will get a ticket to put in the jar each week. Robbie made motion we accept this contest and Laura 2nd, motion carried.

Marble Game: Jean won the right to draw for the marble but did not get the winning one. The pot is at $27.

Susan led us in roll call, 25 weighed in today and the chapter had a net loss of 2.0 lbs. Best loser for the week was Laura with a loss of 2.6 lbs. Other good losses were Cheryl M 6.4 but could not stay for the meeting, Sheryl Ann 2.4, Judy K 12.4 over several weeks, Linda H 2.6 and Steve 1.4. Congratulations to all.

We sang Happy Birthday to Robbie.

It was decided our meeting the week of Christmas will be held on the regular meeting day, Dec. 26.

The floor was turned over to Marilyn for the awards.

She said we did well in October as we had a net loss of 22.8 lbs.

Winner of free dues was Traci B.

Best loser for the month was Sandi B with a loss of 14.2.  Sandi won $5.80

KOPS in leeway all month and below goal were: Marilyn and Juanita.

KOPS in leeway all month were Judy B, Jean and Carol.

Robbie C was presented with a certificate for back in black, certificate and charm for 50 lb. loss and certificate and charm for half way to goal.

Laura H received certificate for back in black, certificate for 55 lb. loss, and certificate and charm for 60 lb. loss.

Sandi B received a certificate for a 45 lb. loss and a certificate and charm for 50 lb. loss and a certificate for a 55 lb. loss.

It was noted between these three members a total of 165 pounds have been lost. We are so proud of everyone.

Members within 20 pounds of goal are: Marie, LJ, Linda C, Margie, Susan and Juda.

We thank Marilyn and Carol our weigh recorders for all the work they do for us.

TOPS #MO 9319 meets each Thursday Morning in the Methodist Church at 201 E Broadway, El Dorado Springs. Weigh-in starts at 7:45 a.m. the meeting begins at 8:45 a.m. and is over by 10 a.m.
