by Marge Zink and Julia Snethen

Morning message at the Rockville United Methodist Church Sunday by Pastor Nick Van Dam was titled “Find fruit in a Tree.” We enjoyed the French horn accompaniment with our singing.

Mt. Zion Bible study met in the home of Tom and Beverly Pelkey at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night; there were 10 in attendance; we invite you to join us.

Rockville lost one of it landmarks when the old meat plant burned this past week.

We wish Tom Pelkey a speedy recovery from eye surgery Wednesday.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Mt. Zion Cemetery for R.J. Davis, sympathy to the family.

Stan and Helen Nixon from El Dorado, KS, visited Marge Zink having lunch with her.

Visitors in the Howard and Dixie Peterson were Mitchel, Jodi, Tucker and Kent Crawford. Mitchel and Kent had been hunting in Colorado; Tucker went youth deer hunting but missed his deer.

Rex and Shawn Stark spent a few days in the country, I asked if they brought the boys youth deer hunting, the boys are in the Marines, times does fly, I must be getting old.

Arron Siegismund, born last week, was in church this Sunday with his parents, Ethen and Michelle.

At the Robin Siegismund farm Belle, the dog, is busy keeping everyone else doing the right thing. Billy goats she will eat with them while the chickens eat her food, Belle still enjoy her Popsicle treat.

Dylan and Laura Noble are proud parents of a baby girl, Quincy Elaine.

The Andrew and Kianna Siegismund welcome son, David Cole.

Visitors in the Bob and Sheri Suster were Johnnie and son; she kept her appointment at the doctors, getting good reports.

Don’t forget the Soup, Chili and Dessert lunch at the Taberville Volunteer Fire Department building Nov 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Money raised will go to the up-keep of the Old School Building in Taberville and you will enjoy a delicious home cooked lunch. Don’t forget the 50-50 and the quilt raffle, can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket.

The VFW auxiliary turkey dinner is Nov. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the park building in Appleton City. Home cooked, with a little planning you will not mess up your kitchen if you eat with us; looking forward to visiting with everyone at the Duckless Duck pond.

Julia Snethen has been very busy making gifts and running to and from Clinton all week getting ready for John and her installation. Saturday they spent all day in Clinton cooking for that evening. Clinton Chapter #73 had their installation of officers with a large turnout. They are very happy it is over and can relax for a day or two.
