News form Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed on Mother’s Day, May 12. She will be closed on Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day weekend. She will reopen on Tuesday, May 28 at her regular time.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended Friday Chicken Friday, Friday, May 3 at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center. They have it the first Friday of every month.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, May 5. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon “What if John 3:16 Was Not True” taken from John 3:16.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday through Saturday from 1:15 to 3:15 so people can get mail, stamps, mail packages etc. the lobby is open 24 hours a day so people can get their mail.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the spring event at the Grace United Methodist Church in El Dorado Springs, Sunday evening, May 5 Jeanie O’Brien and Connie Young of Schell City went with them. Sue O’Neil of Branson had the program. She was on Hee Haw at one point and with Presley and Branson. She is a good singer and she sang some songs that she had written. It was a very good program. There was a meal before the program.

Tuesday, April 30, there was a bad thunderstorm in the area and a lot of ran. People in the area said that there was between six to ten inches. There was some flooding in the Harwood and Schell City areas.

I need to make a correction in my last week’s news. I put that Ruth Ijams was 88 on April 16. It seems she was 87.
