News from Harwood and area

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15. She is giving her workers a couple of days off. She will reopen on Monday, Oct. 16, at her regular time.

Bob and Cheryl Ellerman, of Edwards, visited in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerma Sunday afternoon, Oct. 8.

Jewell Ellerman had a real good 91st birthday Monday, Oct. 2. Her son, Bob, and wife, Cheryl, had put her picture on facebook and she had a nephew from overseas, a great-niece from Oregon and seven in the area wish her a happy birthday.

The Harwood-Schell City area received a much needed rain toward the end of last week. Several different areas received between two and three inches of rain.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 8. Brother Jon Caudle Sr., who had been ill, was able to return Sunday. Brother Caudle’s sermon “Faithful Fruitful” was taken from Hebrews 1:1:14 and Hebrews 10:10-25.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and a Friend, Rosie Taylor, attended the El Dorado Springs Senior Center fundraiser Sunday, Oct. 8. The money is used for Meals on Wheels. Hewell and Helen attended Fried Chicken Friday Oct. 6.
