Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will close at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25 after she serves breakfast. She will be closed on Saturday, June 30 for the community Fourth of July celebration. It will be held in the Schell City Park at 6:30 p.m. The meat and drinks will be furnished. Everyone is to bring a side dish and their lawn chairs. There will be fireworks at dusk.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, June 17. Brother Jon Caudle Sr., preached in the absents of their pastor, Mike Dunivan. Brother Caudle’s sermon was about Fathers taken from II John. Each father present was given a fishing luer.

Jerry and Karen Coy, Alison Alexander and Kaylia, of Harwood and Joey, Amie and Hunter Coy, of Calhoun, attended the 50th wedding anniversary reception for Lewis and Linda Hallam put on by their children at Marrionville. The Hallams live at Republic. Lewis Hallam grew up in the Harwood area. He graduated from Schell City High School.

The Harwood and Schell City area got a little bit of rain early Tuesday morning but are still needing more because it getting a little dry.

Rosie Taylor was a dinner guest in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman Sunday, June 17.
