News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1. The Community Fourth of July celebration will be held on Saturday night, June 30, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Schell City Park. The meat and drinks will be furnished. Everyone attending is to bring a side dish and their lawn chairs. There will be fireworks at dark.

The Morerd family held a family reunion on Saturday, June 23, at the Schell City Community building. All three children that are still living of the late Shurley and Toots Morerod were there which were: Boyd Morerod – Belan, NM and Judith Caudle and Otilla Fox – Harwood. There were eight children of the Morerod family. There were 50 present for the reunion.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, June 24. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon “Healthy Relationship” was taken from II John.

The Harwood and Schell City areas received some much needed rain this past week. It was getting dry. Everybody still needs rain.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the birthday dinner for those that had birthdays in June at the Senior Center at El Dorado Springs Thursday, June 21. The birthday dinner is the fourth Thursday of each month. Helen got a free meal as her birthday was the 11th of June.
