News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27, for the memorial Day weekend. She will reopen at her regular time on Tuesday, May 28.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, May 12. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon was taken from 1 Timothy 1:3-8. Each woman at church was given a potted plant. The went around Harwood and gave each woman a flower.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and a friend, Mary Tomblinson, had Mother’s Day Sunday, May 12 dinner at Pappy’s Restaurant in El Dorado Springs.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday through Saturday from 1:15 to 3:15 so people can get their mail, buy stamps and mail packages. The lobby in open 24 hours so people can get their mail out of their box.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the memorial service for Gary Rutledge at the Sheldon Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs Monday, May 6. They ate dinner with the family at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs Thursday, May 9.

The Harwood and Schell City areas had a really big rain, wind and bad thunderstorm and some hail with it on Monday night, May 6. Different ones say they had around six inches and more in some areas.
