Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed on Father’s Day Sunday, June 16. She will be closed on Saturday, June 29 for the community Fourth of July celebration. It will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Schell City Park. The meat and drinks will be furnished. Everyone attending is to bring a side dish and their lawn chairs. There will be fireworks at dark.

The bridge south of Schell City on AA Hwy. was closed form Tuesday, May 28 to Saturday, June 1. It is just a little north of Madalyn’s Kitchen. She says that most of her regular customers went around six mile out of the way to come to eat. The Conservation Wildlife roads are all closed due to the high water.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, June 2. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon “Jesus Prays For Us” was taken from John 17.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday through Saturday 1:15-3:15 p.m. for people to get their mail, buy stamps and mail packages. The lobby is open 24 hours for people to get their mail out of their mail box. They had a new clerk from Moundville but do not know what their name is.

The weather in the Harwood and Schell City areas had not been quite as bad this past week. The area had some storms this past week but not as bad as they had been.
