Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, says that as far as she knows she will be open every day in July except for Wednesday when she is closed that day. She says the only reason she may be closed toward the end of the week will be because of her grandson’s birthday. She says if you live out of Schell City to call and make sure she is open.

Jewell and Helen Ellernan ate at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center for the birthday dinner Thursday, July 18. People that have a birthday that month are honored for their birthday. The dinner is held the third Thursday of each month.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, July 21. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon “Trinity” was taken from Isaiah 48:15-57 and Matthew 43:45.

The Harwood Post Office is open Monday thru Saturday from 1:15-3:15 p.m. so people can buy stamps, get their mail and mail packages. The lobby is open 24 hours a day so people can get their mail out of their box.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman and Mary Tomblinson visited Arletta (Brown) Wilson at the Medicalodge in Nevada Monday, July 15. Arletta had foot surgery and is in Medicalodge for rehab. Arletta grew up in Harwood. She lives in Rich Hill now.

It had been dry and hot all last week. The Harwood and Schell City areas finally got over two inches of rain late Sunday night, July 21, and early Monday morning, July 22.

Several from the Harwood and Schell City area attended the El Dorado Springs Picnic Thursday, July 18 thru Saturday, July 21.
