News from Harwood and Schell City

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, held her steak dinner Sunday, Sept. 22. She says there was a very large crowd. She says thank you to everyone that supported her. Madalyn’s Kitchen will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, and all day Friday, Sept. 27. She will reopen at her regular time on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the birthday dinner at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center Thursday, Sept. 19. It is held the third Thursday of each month. Each person is honored that hed a birthday that month.

Church service was held Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Harwood Baptist church. Loren Brown, from Nevada, was the guest speaker in the absence of their pastor, Mike Dunivan.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the El Dorado Springs VFW dinner at the El Dorado Springs Fair Ground Saturday, Sept. 21. The El Dorado Springs chapter was celebrating being 100 years old and they are the oldest VFW in the state of Missouri. They had their celebration early because of other things going on. They will be 100 years on Nov. 19. Jewell and Helen Ellerman are members of the women’s group of VFW. A friend of Helen and Jewell, Mary Tomblison, took them along with Mary’s son and brother.
