Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell city, will be closed Saturday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Sept. 3. She will reopen at their regular time on Tuesday, Sept. 4. She will close at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, and will serve breakfast only on Saturday, Sept. 8, for the Schell City Fall Festival. She will be open on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Aug. 26. Brother Mike Dunivan said that they just had singing for the church service. Brian LeeMaster from Nixa, did the singing. He grew up in the Walker area.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended funeral services for Lyndell Brinson at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home Saturday, Aug. 25, with burial at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. Some friends took them.

Helen Ellerman attended the birthday dinner at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center Thursday, Aug. 23. They have it the fourth Thursday of every month.

The Harwood-Schell City area got some much needed rain the past few days. It sure helped so the fire danger will not be so bad.

The El Dorado Springs Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star will hold a BBQ dinner at the First Baptist Church family life center from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. The FLC is located at 500 S Main. Use north entrance off Joe Davis St.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children seven and under in advance. Each ticket at the door is $2 more. The meal will include BBQ ribs or pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, slaw, baked beans, bread, beverage and a dessert. The proceeds are used to carry out activities to serve the community.
