The Reedy family, who grew up in the Harwood area, held a Reedy family reunion at the Walker Christian Church Saturday, June 9. It was all cousins there except for Jewell (Reedy) Ellerman, who is the only one living out of 18 children of the late Samuel and Letha Reedy. Jewell is 91. Others there were Bob and Cheryl Ellerman – Edwards; Helen Ellerman – El Dorado Springs; Mike, Kelly, Hannah and Josh – Carl Junction; Kathy Osborn – Rock, KS; Darrell and Judy Nicholas – Stockton; Dick and Linda Reedy – Portland, OR; Warren and Linda Kay – West Linn, OR; Vanessa Shields – Central Point, OR; Monty and Kathy Dade – Golden City; Jim and Martha Waltrip, Kaimera and Taylor White, Jay Taylor Jr. and son, Kraydon, Jasmme White, Katnna Jeiamie, Kameron and Jasmine West – Nevada; the McSide family, Regan, Jayne, Hun, Mashell and Mikle – Montevallo; Vickie Gastel, Christopher, Jacyne, Jessica, Brysen and Jazzy Ceiny and Jimmy Wrylick – Sheldon; Janet Taylor – Walker; Jerry Reedy and David Reedy – Moundville; Erin Reedy – Joplin; Tom and Virginia Reedy, Phil and Darlene Smith – Kidder; Pauline Jeans – Richards; Syndee Johnson and four children – Excelisoir Springs; Heather Reedy White – Carterville; Abigale Loyd – Hannibal.

Jim and Martha Waltrip and family were hostesses. This is the second reunion they have had. They are planning on having one in two years. The afternoon was spent visiting and taking pictures.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday June 10. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon was taken from 1 John 5:1-5.

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will be closed on Father’s Day, June 17. She will close at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, after she serves breakfast and will close on June 30, for the Community picnic and fireworks.
