News from Harwood, Schell City areas

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will close at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22. She will close as soon as she serves breakfast. She will be closed on Friday, March 29, and Sunday, April 1, for the Easter holiday. She will reopen on Monday, April 2, at her regular time.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended Friday Chicken Friday, March 2, at the El Dorado Springs Senior Center. They have Fried Chicken Friday on the first Friday of every month.

There was a large crowd for the funeral service for Frances Sanders on Thursday, March 1. It was held at the Northeast Vernon County Elementary School at Schell City. Frances lived in Schell City for several years before she went to a nursing home at Nevada.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, March 4. Brother Mike Duniven’s sermon was taken from Matthew 6:25-34.

Jewell and Helen Ellerman attended the funeral service for Linda Allen at the Lutheran Church at Stockton Thursday, March 1. Joey Brym, of near Walker, took them. They ate dinner at Simon’s Pizza in Stockton.
