Rockville United Methodist Church and River of Life Church Easter service was by Pastor Nick Van Dam was titled “Christians Maturing as a Child.”

Mt. Zion Home Bible study was held in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. to study the Bible with eight in attendance.

Mt. Zion Club met Wednesday April 18, in the home of Marge Zink; roll call was your favorite meal. Wilma gave the devotion, business was taken care of then the fun began with the auction betting starting at 5¢ continuing up. Some items brought almost $5, was lot of fun. Refreshments were served, a very enjoyable afternoon was had. The next meeting will be a plant exchange so, bring plants to exchange on May 16, in the Marge Zink home for an afternoon meeting at 1 p.m.

Mt. Zion area was happy to awake to the rain Sunday morning; the farmers had been very busy the past week working their fields, more gardens were planted. The red buds are very pretty as all the blooming plants, a few neighbors had a humming bird but I saw a tree full of buzzards deciding if they should fly back south thinking warm weather wasn’t here yet.

The Mt. Zion Bunco girls enjoyed playing bunco at the Lowry City of the St. Clair County Library Tuesday, if you need some exercise come join us each third Tuesday at 1 p.m. for an afternoon of fun.

Howard and Dixie Peterson visitors have been Kent and Mitchel Crawford and Eric Peterson. They enjoyed supper Saturday at the deer camp with the boys.

Tom and Beverly Pelkey kept Tom’s eye appointment in Warrensburg, it is a pleasant trip most of the time, Tom’s appointment was the day it stormed.

Over at the Mabel Siegismund home Mabel got her a real nice mother cat on Wednesday who was supposed to have kittens; Friday she did have four kittens, Mabel and her dog are real happy.

John and Julia Snethen attended the Chapter #73 meeting on Monday evening, John ran his bus route but Julia has been down sick again. Sunday they attended the Chapter Sunday at the Christian Church in Clinton then returned home for a surprise birthday party for Julia. Those attending were Shella Akers, David Vandivier, Abby Jarman, Ron Thompson and family.
