Rockville United Methodist Church welcomed their new pastor, Larry Sorrels, and family; his morning message was titled “I” Problems, join us Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. for worship.

Mt. Zion Home Bible study was held in the Tom and Beverly Pelkey home Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. to study the Bible with nine in attendance..

Sympathy to the Wayne Schenker family, funeral services were held Monday, July 2, at River of Life Church in Rockville.

Margie Siegismund and Wanda Rector were among the folks who enjoyed the dinner theater in Kansas City recently.

Wishing Donna Harris a speedy recovery she spent a few days in the hospital.

The Mt. Zion area was among the area Tuesday to have lots of rain, wind and lighting. Lighting did damage at Marge Zink home to the air conditioner, television and phones and 4 1⁄2 inches of rain, haven’t had that much rain in a long time; several neighbors were without electricity.

Over at the Robin Siegismund farm Sunday morning, it was cool enough that Speck (Mabel’s dog) decided it was cool enough to visit Belle and play like pups. Not only did the dogs enjoy the cooler weather, we all enjoyed the cooler weather and the break.

Mitchel, Jodi and Tucker Crawford visited in the Howard and Dixie Peterson home recently. Dixie kept her appointment at the doctor’s this week; Howard is still bailing hay.

Congratulations to all the area kids who participated in the local fairs winning prizes.

Haold Rosbrugh visited Tom and Beverly one evening; Tom got the grass mowed Beverly has been busy feeding the humming birds.

Julia Snethen is still recovering from her heart problems; have seen her out driving but with someone with her. She has been keeping all of her doctor’s appointments and tests. John had to go to Sedalia for OATS meeting and then to Nevada for repairs on his bus. The Snethen had a picnic Saturday evening with homemade ice cream and fireworks all who attended had fun, thanks to Colton Wade who helped shoot the fireworks.
