“We have had a great week in the lieutenant governor’s office. I was privileged to speak with a variety of organizations that work on economic development, agriculture and tourism. We have several exciting projects in the works to highlight all that Missouri has to offer ranging from products manufactured to the food grown within our borders.

On Tuesday, I was privileged to stand with our governor as he signed right-to-work into law. This legislation will end forced unionization in Missouri. I commend legislators in the House and Senate for moving quickly on this issue. While I am pleased to see the bill signed into law this session, I want to thank all of the previous legislators who worked on this issue for years. It would not have been accomplished without the help of so many others who have passed through the halls of our capitol.

Tomorrow I will visit Perryville, and tour several local businesses that provide hundreds of jobs to Missourians. These businesses and their employees work hard to provide goods and services across our nation, and I look forward to helping them as lieutenant governor. While in Perryville, I will tour the proposed sight for a Vietnam Memorial Wall, when completed will be an exact replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C. This project is very special to the Perryville community, our state’s veterans, and I plan to help however I can to make this monument a reality.
