A total solar eclipse will sweep across the continental United States next Monday, Aug. 21. The greatest path will cross Missouri from northwest (St. Joseph) to southeast (Cape Girardeau). With a duration of about 90 minutes, areas nearest El Dorado Springs with “greatest duration” will be places like Columbia and Boonville. It’s been over 500 years since this type of total eclipse path was over Missouri.
