There are times in life that the actions and conduct of those around us take us aback for a moment. That happened recently to those of us who currently serve as the Board of Directors for Green Mound Cemetery in Harwood, Missouri. Small rural cemeteries sometimes struggle to make ends meet with the demands of day to day upkeep, mowing and general maintenance expenses while striving to keep the place of rest for our loved ones well preserved.

During the recent Schell City Fall Festival the Schell City 4-H members conducted a 50/50 raffle and chose Green Mound Cemetery as recipient of funds raised from that event for their yearly community project. Shortly thereafter, the cemetery Board received a generous donation from Living Faith Mennonite Church in Walker. As Board members and residents of the community we are both humbled and overwhelmed by these acts of kindness that will aid in our continued efforts to maintain the Green Mound Cemetery for families and their loved ones.

We cannot say Thank You enough for these donations and are so thankful for the community in which we live to know that our friends and neighbors are such kind and caring people. We will not forget your selfless generosity in our time of need.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Green Mound Cemetery Board of Directors
