The fall play at El Dorado Springs High School for 2017 will be a musical called, “Forty-Five Minutes from Broadway,” by Shubert Fendrich and music by George M. Cohan. This is going to be a very charming and nostalgic musical for the whole family.

Here’s a glistening story with the celebrated show tunes of George M. Cohan, including “Give My Regards to Broadway” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag.”

Dick Foster’s Broadway show is opening, but he’s having serious problems. Stubborn leading ladies and minimal working capital are just a few of his headaches. An aspiring young actress, Mary Collins, walks on the stage and could be the one to save the show, if only they had the money to put it on. To complicate matters, “Legs” Ruby enters the scene. He’s on the run from the mob and brings with him a side-splitting array of characters.

Just as all appears lost for Dick and his dream show, an “angel” arises with the financial backing. This play is filled with appealing character roles including delightful chorus girls and goofy gangsters.

Tickets for the fall musical will be $4 in advance and $5 at the door. You can purchase any tickets from any of the cast/crew or at the high school office, just ask for Mr. Ybarra.

Production for the play is Nov. 9, 10 and 11 in the Middle School gym starting at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Come on out and enjoy some great song and dance.
