The Cedar County MU Extension Center in conjunction with the MSSU Small Business and Technology Development Center in Joplin will host an “Advanced Microsoft Office 2013 Excel Workshop” on Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the El Dorado Springs Youth Center, 508 North Main Street.

The workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The learning objectives of this workshop are:

• Using the Quick Access Toolbar

• Setting Excel Options

• Keyboard Shortcuts

• SmartArt and Objects

• Creating Charts

• Applying Advanced Chart Features

• Insert a chart from an Excel spreadsheet into Word

• Creating Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts

• Absolute vs Relative Cell References

• Using Excel Functions   

• Formulas vs. Functions

• Understanding Function Compatibility

• Linking Cells in a Worksheet

• Linking a Range of Cells

• Error check

• Hyperlinks

• Lock cells to protect them 

• Sorting and Filtering

• Using Goal Seek

• Using the Text to Columns Feature

• Consolidating data
