After hunting opportunities have ended, it’s important to clean and care for firearms so they’ll be in good working order for the next season.

Hunters and gun owners can get information about caring for firearms in between hunting seasons at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Firearm Basic Care and Cleaning program Feb. 24 at MDC’s Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center. This free workshop will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

The workshop will cover how to clean and store firearms and other basic firearm maintenance, too. Participants can bring their own unloaded firearm to the class or use ones provided by Dalton Range staff.

The class is for all ages. Participants must register online at: https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/153390.

MDC’s Andy Dalton Range and Outdoor Education Center is located at 4897 N. Greene County Farm Road 61. Information about this and other upcoming Dalton Range programs can also be obtained by calling 417/742-4361.
