Order of Eastern Star plans fundraiser

The El Dorado Springs Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star will hold a BBQ dinner in the First Baptist Church family life center from 5-7:30 Saturday, Aug. 19. The FLC is located at 500 S. Main (use north entrance), El Dorado Springs; tickets are $10.

The meal will include BBQ ribs or pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, two sides, bread, beverage and dessert. The proceeds are used to carry out activities to serve the community such as supporting youth activities, conducting food bank drives, conducting the scholarship program and supporting statewide charities such as service dogs, Shriner’s Hospital and cancer research.

Locally, the chapter coordinates the Lillian Sunderwirth Memorial Scholarship which is providing almost $20,000 annually to students form El Dorado Springs or who are related to OES members.
