Drivers will experience delays as several bridges located in Henry, St. Clair, Polk, Vernon, Jasper and Barton counties are painted beginning the week of Sept. 9, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will paint the steel components of the bridges as a preventive maintenance measure to extend the lives of the structures.

Tentative schedule:

• Sept. 9-14: Henry County Route C over Truman Lake east of Clinton

• Sept. 15-19: Missouri Route 52 over Marshall’s Creek west of Deepwater in Henry County

• Sept. 20-25: St. Clair County Route D over Gallinipper Creek southwest of Lowry City

• Sept. 26-Oct. 2: St. Clair County Route H over Clear Creek north of El Dorado Springs

• Oct. 3-9: I-49 over the Missouri Pacific Railroad south of Nevada in Vernon County

• Oct. 10-16: Vernon County Route E over Clear Creek east of Milo

• Oct. 17-24: Vernon County Route B over Clear Creek east of Sheldon

• Oct. 25-31: Barton County Route P over Second Nicholson Creek west of Liberal

• Nov. 1-4: Barton County Route F over Horse Creek northeast of Lamar

• Nov. 6-8: Jasper County Route A over Muddy Fork Creek east of Jasper

• Nov. 9-13: Jasper County Route O over Colliers Branch southwest of Jasper

• Nov. 14-18: Jasper County Route M over Little North Fork Creek west of Jasper

• Nov. 20-Dec. 4: Both I-44 bridges over U.S. Route 71 at Fidelity in Jasper County

• Dec. 5-9: Missouri Route 215 over the Pomme de Terre River southeast of Bolivar

Drivers can expect one-lane traffic with flaggers directing them through the work zones.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
