Sheep, goat workshop to focus on parasite management

I am sending this out to let you know about an upcoming Sheep and Goat workshop that MU Extension and Lincoln University Cooperation Extension and Outreach Program are working together on discussing internal parasite management.  This workshop will begin at 4 p.m.Thursday, April 19, in the First Baptist Church in Osceola.

Instructors for the workshop include Susan Jaster with Lincoln University Cooperative Extension Small Farm Outreach Program as well as MU Extension Regional Livestock Specialists Gene Schmitz and Patrick Davis.  This workshop will include lecture, discussion, and hands – on activity related to body condition scoring, FAMACHA© Scoring, Fecal Egg Count in sheep and goats.  Also people will become certified in FAMACHA eye anemia system which can be used to determine if sheep and goats need to be dewormed for the barber pole worm.

Cost of the workshop is $35 per person and that include supper, refreshments and handouts.  Preregistration along with payment is required to the St. Clair County MU Extension Center (St. Clair County Courthouse, P. O. Box 523, Osceola, Mo. 64776 by April 16..No refunds after the registration deadline.
