The Missouri Department of Conservation will hold a Hunter Education course on Sept. 22 at the Missouri Department of Conservation El Dorado Springs Office at 1109 S. Main St. The class will run from 8 a.m. until noon.

Attendees must be at least 11 years old by the day of the class to attend.

Hunter Education classes have changed in the last couple of years. There are two steps that must be completed.

Step one is the knowledge portion. You may take the online knowledge portion which costs $15 upon completion. You can find the online portion at https://www.hunter-ed.com/missouri/.

The next option is to pick up a Hunter Education book at the El Dorado Springs Office, complete the questions in the back and bring it to the skills portion. The completed book must be brought to the class on Sept. 22  if you decide to complete the knowledge portion with the book.

Step two is the skills portion, which is the class being offered on Sept.  22.

At the end of the skills portion attendees must pass a 35 question test which will cover both the knowledge and skills portions.

Attendees must pre-register to attend the skills session. Visit https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/AllEvents?EventTypeId=1.
