Beverly Alene Mogan, 76, El Dorado Springs, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2018.

Beverly was born Feb. 4, 1942, in Cedar County, the daughter of Fred and Velma (Reeder) Blystone. She attended school and as a young woman helped her parents on the family farm.

Beverly married Richard “Dick” Mogan on the family farm on Oct. 12, 1958. To this union four children were born – Mike, Kenny, Tim and Liesa.

After her marriage, she moved with Dick to Independence where she raised her children. After Dick retired in 1988, they moved back to the family farm. She was the queen of crafts, a great cook and always was there for her kids and friends.

She was a member of the RLDS Church, where her dad ministered for years, until his death in 1981.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mike Mogan and Tim Mogan; grandson, Brent Mogan; two sisters, Faye Long and Mae Rogers; and one brother, Wallace Blystone.

Survivors include her husband, Dick, of El Dorado Springs; two children, Liesa Messick and husband, Ken, of El Dorado Springs and Kenny Mogan of El Dorado Springs; three grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Blystone and wife, Alexa; and three sisters – Velda Dobbs and husband, Gary, Adele Adams and husband, Jimmy, and Jean Milburn and husband, Virgil.

Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Interment followed in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
