Dixie Lee (Burnett) Conner, 87, a lifelong resident of El Dorado Springs, departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family. Dixie was born July 31, 1929, in Roscoe to Jess S. and Ethel L. Burnett, the youngest of two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jesse.

She was united in marriage on Feb 1, 1947, to Robert Clifton Conner.

Dixie worked at International Shoe Company and Dunbrook Shirt Company before retiring in 1962.

She was saved in July of 1960 and was a member of the Park Street Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Conner; her son, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Debbie, of Bella Vista, AR,; brother-in-law, James Conner, of Kansas City; two granddaughters, Cheryl and her husband, Dennis Nall, of Springfield, and Kim and her husband, Tim Burbank, of Conway, AR; and four great-grandsons, Conner and Hunter Nall and Hayden and Garrison Burbank.

One of her great joys in life was working in her gardens. She loved flowers of all kinds and took joy from her rose garden. Winning El Dorado Garden of the Month in June 2016 was one of her proudest moments.

She was also an accomplished artist excelling in the mediums of oils and pastels. Her pictures hang in all of the family homes.

She will be missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her.

Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22.
