Earl “Denny” Baker, 81, of Topeka, KS, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019.

He was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Montevallo the son of Ual V. and Eloise Hazel (May) Baker. He was a 1955 graduate of Andover (KS) High School. He served in the United States Army and National Guard.

Denny was employed in the finance industry in Pittsburg and Topeka KS for 30 years. He was also employed by Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Western Hills Church, Topeka, and the Romeos Coffee group at McDonalds on Wanamaker.

Denny married Marcia Faker in April of 1960 in Wichita. To this union survives a son, Jeff Baker, Gilbert, AZ. He married Marjorie May LeGore on July 17, 1965. To this union survives a daughter, Christina Den Baker, Topeka. They divorced in January of 1984. He married Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Baker on July 18, 1992 in Topeka, KS. She survives of the home. To this union survive two daughters, Joy Eloise and Hannah Patricia Grace Baker, Topeka; two grandchildren, Brett and Monica Baker; two great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Brady Baker; and a sister, Sandra Brunton, El Dorado Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a step-son, Steve Cook.

Denny loved people. He never met a stranger and possessed a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed feeding the neighborhood dogs. He was a car enthusiast, owning over 100 different models, especially Mopar. He liked watching TV, NASCAR and Old Westerns.

Honoring Earl’s request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, Kansas 66610.
