Elsie McAlexander

Elsie Mae (Schuman) McAlexander, 79, El Dorado Springs, returned to Jesus on Sept. 2, 2018, peacefully at home in the company of her loving son, Fred.

She was born Jan. 1, 1939, to Fredrick Otto and Maritta (Merrifield) Schuman in Rockville. Early in life, Elsie worked various service-oriented jobs. In her later years, she cared for the elderly.

Elsie enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her family. Elsie lived a life of unwavering Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and John Schuman. She leaves behind two sisters, Marie Hillsman and Barbara Loane; two sons, Dan Swanson (wife Kathy) and Fred McAlexander; three grandchildren – Jamie Davis (husband James), Bailey Reichenberger (husband Nathan) and Matthew Swanson; three great grandchildren – Victoria, Isabelle and Vivian Davis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Friday, Sept. 7, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Burial followed in Rockville Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Fred McAlexander, Dan Swanson, Matthew Swanson, James Davis, Nathan Reichenberger and York Morlan. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Hillsman, David Loane, Shaun Loane, Timmy Loane and Jimmy Loane.
