George D. Heisten

George D. Heisten, 76, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 in El Dorado Springs. George was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Carthage to Russell “Russ” Jacob and Willa “Dunn” Heisten. George served in the United States Army, then became a chemical engineer.

George is survived by his love, Barbara “Gene” Chilton; and his children – Brian Heisten and wife, Andrea, Lindy Heisten, Mark Heisten and wife, Angela, and Alyssa Heisten. George will also forever be remembered by Barbara’s children, Michael Chilton, and wife, Kelsey; Matthew “Turtle” Allen, and Barbara Bradhurst and husband, ,Jeramiah. George is survived by his eight grandchildren and one nephew, Rusty Heisten.

George was preceded in death by one brother, William Heisten.

Visitation and service will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, in Ulmer Funeral Home, 1208 S. Garrison Ave., Carthage. Phone: 417/358 -222.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Carthage Salvation Army in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
